Marine — Paper, acrylic wash, dry pastel, oil pastel, methyl cellulose — Dimensions between 92 x 142 cm / 98 x 144 cm.

Crumpled, folded and creased, the paper becomes mounds and crevices. The wash of colour meanders, slides and, in its hollows, forms interlacing patterns. As it passes, the creases hold the pigments, and the surfaces take shape. Reliefs emerge across wide expanses of water... A journey is underway. But what kind of journey is it? An inaccessible or hopelessly lost one? An imaginary journey, inspired by Magellan's circumnavigation of the globe, a look back at the many happy or dramatic crossings, in search of discoveries or a better world.
